The Canaccord Sportive in aid of Rebecca House is a new event on the Manx Cycling calendar with the start and finish being hosted in the beautiful surroundings of The Nunnery Estate on Old Castletown Road, Douglas. Rebecca House is the Isle of Man Children's Hospice.
The 40km route is mostly flat with just over 300m of elevation. Download the route here:
Online Entry for all rides is £40 (discounted rate of £20 applies for under 16's taking part in either of the two shorter distances), but due to the generous sponsorship by Canaccord, plus the kind patronage of the Nunnery, it is guaranteed that 100% of your entry fee will go directly to Rebecca House.
Entry includes: Finisher's Medal, Cycling Neck Warmer, Electronic Timing, Energy Bar, Cycling Bottle, photos on Facebook, a feed station on the route and a refreshment voucher for Tea/Coffee + cake at the finish
Throughout the event, riders will be supported by dedicated volunteers and an aid station offering refreshments and assistance.
There will also be children's activities in the Nunnery grounds whilst the event is on, so family members may enjoy the atmosphere at the start / finish, while participants are out on the course.
Participants may start anytime between 09:00 & 09:30, although slower riders for the longer distances are advised to go off as close to 09:00 as possible.
IMPORTANT - All participants under the age of 18 must submit a consent form completed by their parent/guardian on the day of the event. Parental Consent forms are available for download here.
In terms of participation, the shortest route is suitable for people over the age of 12 years and should expect to take anywhere between 1.5 to 3hrs.
PLEASE NOTE: Riders under the age of 16 must also be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the ride.
